Vikenco has been a recognised supplier of seafood to markets in Norway, Europa, the USA and the Far East since 1973. The company was a pioneer in salmon-farming, and with Salmar Organic it has a fully integrated production chain from roe and smolt to marine growers. The company has in addition to its own harvesting station, a value adding plant and marketing department.

1973

Company was founded. Whitefish reception. Shrimp picking.

Started with salmon farming where trimmings from whitefish, shrimp peel and mixed flour were used as feed.

1988

Breeding facilities were relocated from shallow water outside Rindarøya, to deeper water in open sea and fjords.

1995

Finn Viken handed over operations to local owners.

Vikenco started production of salmon fillets.

2000

Vikenco developed SuperGreen in cooperation with Yara.

2007

Raumagruppen joined the ownership.

2010

Salmar joined the ownership
